I use use Snagit.com's quick screenshot tool which takes screenshots of your computer and posts them elsewhere.

At SpaceyFacey.com, i specifically am posting to a Wordpress blog there. You have to install the appropriate extension to Snagit. Just download and install any of the following:

You'll see a FogBugz one and a Flickr one. I use the FogBugz extension to post screenshots instantly to tasks for developers. FogBugz is my project management tool of choice. It's by far the best one and I actually have used them all. PivotalTracker.com is my second favorite one...Otherwise, I post to flickr for non-developer associates to see something on my screen, i.e. so I can more privately share screenshots without posting an entire blog article about it.



It really has a lot of features. You can configure the Flickr output for example to post to different sets. So essentially you can quickly toggle between posting screenshots to a set corresponding to one project and then toggle it to post to a set for another project. This way you can basically keep an organized collection of all your posts for viewing at a later point in time.

Recently, in the meetup.com New York Tech mailing list, there has been a debate on the real ROI of offshoring/outsourcing. Most argued against it. My opinion is that most of these people are onshore professionals and don't want to see their jobs lost, or more realistically, are too proud to consider that such value derived from offshoring is possible. I personally recognize the value in each. I prefer to look at it like a search cluster: you have many worker servers doing all the grunt work and a couple broker servers telling them what to do. There's no point in having all the worker servers (i.e. programmers) be in the states if you can effectively hire a few american "brokers" to architect and manager the offshore workers. It's totally possible, and speaks to the value of both....

So, the answer to the quesiton everyone's been asking: WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SOCIAL APPLICATION PLATFORMS LIKE OPEN SOCIAL AND FACEBOOK'S APP PLATFORM????

YOUR WHOLE SITE LIVES WITHIN THESE NETWORKS!

If you can monetize your website, then you can more than monetize it within these social infrastructures. The idea is that the users of these networks are provided tools to recommend your application/site to other users or "friends" in the given social network (e.g. Myspace, Facebook, Linkedin, etc) who trust their opinion. This happens currently through several main methods:

1) widget box on their profile
2) widget box on their private dashboard
3) invite your friend tools
4) notifications to your friends of what you're doing (via notification tools within the network as well as generated emails)
5) and probably more methods in the future

Hey everyone. So, I just started a serious video blogging campaign. I figured, "Hey, I have a web-cam right in my computer screen, I can talk in a way that captures the essence of my points better than text, and video is catching a lot of eye-balls these days, so WHY DON'T I START VIDEO BLOGGING!"

Recently someone criticized me for not knowing much about the raw business reasons for why Microsoft wants to acquire Yahoo. My answer to him was: "Well, maybe, but I do know about what's wrong with Microsoft's and Yahoo's culture of innovation."

What I'm interested when it comes to analyzing technological trends and said tech giants is often a very emo, or "emotionally intelligent," second thought. I'm interested in the human aspect and essence of what's going on within companes--something that should not be a second thought. I'm interested in how very human elements play into the software they design. I'm interested in tapping into the human "emo" element in order to capture user's attention. Most of them don't need a plethora of features, and most of them usually appreciate something simple that does what it does and does it well--kinda like how Facebook first caught on.

A lot of us really cherish these Web 2.0 tech events. It's funny, because the reason is obvious (and something we don't all consider): building and using the web and software has so much to do with being by yourself alone on a computer; it only makes sense that we really like actually meeting the people we socialize with online, in person! Anyway, we all know these events are a great way for us to connect, find synergies, and generally do business. So here's a long list (unfortunately there are no major major events in NYC until Web 2.0 Expo in the fall):
